
To gather global talents, support outstanding talent-led projects and empower innovators and entrepreneurs to develop in Fujian, the 2026 Fujian Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is officially launched. We offer preferential policies, premium platforms and comprehensive services to boost the in-depth integration of technological innovation and industrial development.
The 2026 competition covers three cutting-edge sectors: Electronic Information, Biotechnology and Advanced Manufacturing, with a total prize pool of nearly RMB 4 million. Award-winning projects that settle in Fujian can enjoy streamlined review via the “Competition Results as Expert Review” mechanism, including provincial talent funding of up to RMB 2 million and a full set of municipal supporting policies.
All participants will also receive one-stop services covering talent placement, startup incubation and financing matching.
1. Eligibility Requirements
All applicants and participating projects must satisfy the following rules:
- The lead applicant holds a master’s degree or above obtained overseas (outside mainland China), or has accumulated more than two years of overseas innovation and entrepreneurship experience. Applicants shall be currently residing overseas, or have returned to mainland China for employment or business establishment on or after January 1, 2021.
- Projects must feature fully independent intellectual property rights, with internationally advanced or domestically leading core technologies. A sound business model and strong market prospects are also required.
- The lead applicant shall be the core founder of the project. The applicant and team members must legally own or hold valid authorization for all intellectual property related to the project, with no ongoing intellectual property disputes or commercial infringement claims at home or abroad.
- Each lead applicant is allowed to submit only one project.
- Projects that have received funding from national or Fujian provincial talent programs, or won Third Prize (Bronze Award) or above in previous Fujian innovation and entrepreneurship competitions are not eligible to participate.
2. Competition Tracks
Projects are divided into three professional tracks:
- Electronic Information: Artificial Intelligence, Integrated Circuits, Information Technology and related fields.
- Biotechnology: Innovative Pharmaceuticals & Therapeutics, High-end Medical Devices, Frontier Biotechnology and related fields.
- Advanced Manufacturing: New Energy, Advanced Materials, Equipment Manufacturing and related fields.
3. Awards Setup
Awards include Gold Prize, Silver Prize, Bronze Prize and Excellence Award.

4. Event Schedule
- Registration Period: May 15 – June 30, 2026. Lead applicants shall complete official registration and submit all required documents via the designated competition website.
- Material Review: After registration closes, the Organizing Committee will review all submissions against competition rules and announce the list of preliminary round qualifiers.
- Preliminary Round: July 2026. Industry expert panels will conduct document-based evaluations for all qualified projects. Finalists will be selected based on scoring results, and notifications will be released via official channels.
- Grand Final & Award Ceremony: Early September 2026 (coinciding with the China International Fair for Investment and Trade, CIFIT). Finalists will deliver on-site project pitches in Xiamen, Fujian Province. The event will conclude with an award ceremony, followed by supporting activities including financing matching and industry site visits. Detailed schedules will be announced separately.
5. On-site Support for Finalists
The Organizing Committee will provide free accommodation and meals for up to 2 team members per finalist project. Reimbursement for round-trip travel expenses is available for a maximum of two team members, subject to the following caps:
- Non-Asian countries: Maximum RMB 20,000 per person
- Other Asian countries: Maximum RMB 15,000 per person
- Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions: Maximum RMB 10,000 per person
- Other provinces of mainland China: Maximum RMB 8,000 per person
- Cities in Fujian Province (excluding Xiamen): Maximum RMB 4,000 per person
6. Policy & Comprehensive Support
Award-winning projects that launch operations in Fujian within one year after the competition are entitled to exclusive talent policies and entrepreneurship services as follows:
6.1 Fujian Provincial High-Level Talent Benefits
- Gold, Silver and Bronze Prize winners who secure employment or establish enterprises in Fujian within one year after receiving awards and meet relevant criteria can be directly recognized as Fujian High-Level Talents via the Exemption from Regular Application channel.
- Gold Prize Winners: Qualified for Category B High-Level Talent recognition, with a settlement subsidy of up to RMB 1 million (a 30% increase applies to foreign nationals, in accordance with local talent introduction regulations).
- Silver & Bronze Prize Winners: Qualified for Category C High-Level Talent recognition, with a settlement subsidy of up to RMB 500,000 (a 30% increase applies to foreign nationals, in accordance with local talent introduction regulations).
6.2 Entrepreneurship Support
Gold Prize winners who set up enterprises in Fujian within one year after the award and meet relevant requirements can be selected for the Fujian Hundred Talents Entrepreneurship Program, with a maximum subsidy of RMB 2 million. All municipal cities (including Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Area) will also offer tailored entrepreneurship support for Gold, Silver and Bronze Prize winners.
6.3 Innovation Support
- Gold Prize winners employed by Fujian-based enterprises or public institutions to engage in R&D and innovation within one year after the award may apply for the Fujian Hundred Talents Innovation Program, with a subsidy of up to RMB 2 million. Existing Fujian-based employees who win the Gold Prize are eligible for the Young Eagle Program for Outstanding Young Talents, also with a maximum subsidy of RMB 2 million.
- Silver Prize winners employed by Fujian-based enterprises or public institutions for scientific research within one year after the award can apply for the Fujian Program for Overseas Outstanding Young Talents, with a subsidy of up to RMB 1.1 million.
- Gold, Silver and Bronze Prize winners undertaking postdoctoral research in Fujian within one year after the award may join the Fujian Outstanding Postdoctoral Support Program, with a total research-period subsidy of up to RMB 400,000.
All municipal cities (including Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Area) will provide additional innovation support for prize winners.
Note: For subsidies issued by the same administrative level, only the most beneficial option is applicable. No duplicate subsidies are allowed.
6.4 One-stop Comprehensive Services
A provincial-level platform will be built to facilitate project docking and settlement, connecting winning projects with key local enterprises, universities and research institutions across Fujian. All municipal cities (including Pingtan) will offer full-cycle services for lead applicants, including company registration, startup incubation and financing matching.
